Feature & Follow Friday #3

*I nervously walk up the steps, praying I don't slip. I make my way across the stage smiling brightly as I accept my Featured blogger award and turn toward the crowd ---* Wow wish that daydream could have lasted a little longer :)

But really I just wanted to say how excited and thankful to be chosen as this weeks Featured Blogger. I've been blogging for a year now but last year I was so shy and didn't really communicate much. This year I want to be more outgoing and interact with more bloggers and have fun with all the book lovers out there.

Alison and Parajunkee have made that possible for all of us through the Feature & Follow Fridays and i just wanted to take this time to say Thank you to them and all of you whom have stopped by my blog during any of the FF's I have participated in :) Now on to this weeks question.................

Question:

What books are you looking forward to reading in 2014?

I have been waiting patiently or not so patiently ;) for a few books to come out this year.

1)Awakened by Nina Lane- This is the third book in a trilogy and it came out the beginning of this Year. Of course i bought it the day it came out and I absolutely loved it just like I did the other 2 .

2) Up from the Grave (Night Huntress #7) by Jeaniene Frost- I pre ordered this book and i am anxiously waiting for it to come out on January 28th. If you like paranormal books & vampires ..You will absolutely love this series. I listen to them on audiobooks and the narrator is Amazing!

3)Honesty (Mark of Nexus 2.5) by Carrie Butler- If you have read the first 2 books in The Mark of Nexus Series you already know how great they are. If you haven't ..What are you waiting for? Honesty is a Novella about Cole- The Bad boy you can't help but Love. I cannot wait :)

I'm sure there are a few other books I've been waiting on but those are the first 3 that popped into my head. and just look at the covers.

Feature & Follow Friday #2

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you.

Question of the Week: Who is your blogger BFF? Tell us a little bit about him or her? If not tell us why you need or don’t need a blogger BFF.

Answer: I don't have a blogger bff yet but i would love one. I love meeting and talking to new people but having a blogger bff would be Amazing :). I'm on the shy side in real life and online so sometimes it's hard for me to make friends because I'm not as outgoing as some but the Feature & Follow Friday has been great with gaining new followers now it's time to turn some of those followers into friendships and hopefully meet my blogger bff in the process.

Are you looking for a blogger bff ..send me you bff application and i'll be happy to fill it out..You never know we may be a match :).

*Cover Reveal* Honesty by Carrie Butler

Honesty (Mark of Nexus #2)

Category: New Adult  Genre: Urban Fantasy
Book Description:
Note: This title is best enjoyed after Strength (Mark of Nexus #1) and Courage (Mark of Nexus #2).

Cole Blake is more than just a roguish ladies’ man. He’s also a dedicated worker—so dedicated, in fact, that he’s willing to blackmail his boss with a falsified sex tape in order to keep his job. And his proactive efforts don’t end there. After hours, he uses his Dynari abilities to moonlight as a vigilante, keeping his neighborhood safe from drunks, dealers, and would-be thieves. Until a mistake stops him dead in his super-accelerated tracks. Now burdened with the closest thing he’s ever had to a conscience, Cole struggles to justify his once-reckless actions. It’d be all too easy to give in to his darker impulses, especially with ERA making dangerous advances toward their goal of revolution, but embracing that hatred could jeopardize the few relationships he actually cares about—including his pursuit of the saintly Rachel Ranford. No, in order to keep everyone safe, he’ll have to come clean about his warring compulsions and ask for help... before his dark side takes over.

My Review: 5 out of 5 Stars

Even though I already reviewed both books on my other blog but I wanted to write one on the series so far on this blog. When I first finished Strength the first book in the Mark of Nexus Series I immediately wanted to start the book all over again. Carrie Butler's writing was Amazing- the characters came to life and I could hear their voices in my head as I read. Honestly you forget your reading and you're sucked into their world. It was a great story and she was the first author I ever wrote to tell her how much I enjoyed the book.

I waited patiently for Courage the second book in the series to come out ..okay okay you got me I waited not so patiently ;) and was thrilled to be able to participate in the blog tour and receive an arc.

Courage picks up where Strength left off and let me tell you I was not disappointed. For those that know me I love a book that has Action+Romance and Courage has just that.

The Mark of Nexus is not your normal Paranormal Love story. Carrie Butler brings something new and exciting to the table and when you pick up this series you know you're about to read a story you've never read before.

So make sure you get your hands on this Amazing Series and be ready to escape from reality for a little while and slip into a world with action, heartbreak, love and happiness. The Links are posted above!

·                                                          Loyalty (Mark of Nexus #3) - Coming 2014

About the Author:

Carrie Butler daydreamed her way through college—until they thrust a marketing degree into her hands, slapped a summa cum laude seal on the corner, and booted her out into a less-than-stellar job market. Instead of panicking at the prospect of unemployment, she used her Midwestern logic to steer into the skid and point her life in the direction she really wanted to go: writing out those daydreams.

Her passion for New Adult fiction led her to co-found NA Alley—one of the first websites dedicated to the category. She is the author of Strength (Mark of Nexus #1) and Courage (Mark of Nexus #2).

1st Review in 2014- Convicted by Aleatha Romig

About the Book:

Title: Convicted (Consequences #3)
Author: Aleatha Romig
Series: Consequences Series
Publication:October 6th 2013
Genre: Adult

Synopsis:

You must stick to your CONVICTION, but be ready to abandon your assumptions - Denis Waitley

Book #3 of the Consequences Series—

There were still lessons to learn and consequences for the truth!
When Claire Nichols met Anthony Rawlings, she didn’t know they had a past, or that he had plans for her future. Over time, the role of teacher changed—games became reality—and domination turned to desire. Despite an insurmountable history, Claire and Tony found their way back to one another.

Just when they seemed to have it all—love, respect, and the promise of a family—the game master exposed the truth. Claire’s world once again spun out of control. Unwilling to allow her child to suffer the consequences of an old vendetta, Claire fled...

At one time, Claire was held captive in an opulent mansion—then her incarceration was a cell inside a state penitentiary. Was her new prison—a tropical island—truly less lonely? Perhaps that was the game master’s plan, all along?

Who will save Claire from her oldest nightmare and her newest reality? Will it be Tony? Can he forgive her for leaving him—again? Harry? Will he utilize previously unknown connections to save the woman who infiltrates his thoughts? Maybe Phil? Will his devotion in keeping Claire and her child safe be rewarded?

As the cards are played—sins of the past, innocent victims, and truths are revealed. With compartmentalization no longer an option, is the reality too much? Could there be an even worse isolation?

With the game master dealing from a stacked deck, can this new high-stakes game possibly be won?

When it’s all over and their cards are on the table—SOME will discover their bets were too high—they have nothing left to lose—ALL will learn the crucial lesson—the most important rule—there are CONSEQUENCES for the TRUTH!

My Review: 5 out of 5 Stars

Wow ... I just finished reading Convicted around 3 am and I had to get my thoughts together. Since I don't like containing spoilers I will give the best review i can without giving too much away. I honestly feel my words cannot even express how much I truly loved this story but I will try.

*You might have to reread book 2 before reading Book 3-i did. I started Book 3 but didn't make it far i immediately read book 2 again, just to get a feel for the characters again and remember all the details again.

I began Aleatha Romig's Consequences series last year and was hooked from the very first page in book 1. to the very last page in book 3. This series is not for the faint of heart. Taken for the disclaimer in her book: It contains  dark adult Content. It contains innuendos of kidnapping, rape, physical and mental abuse. So if those are topics you are not comfortable with, unfortunately this Amazing series is not for you.

Although I enjoyed the whole series I will try to focus this review on book 3 as much as possible.
Convicted like the other 2 books brought out so many different emotions in me. Fear, Anger, sadness, Happiness and most important HOPE. I've become so connected to the characters in this series Aleatha Romig's writing is so beautiful you forget you're only reading a story.

My view on the characters:
I think Emily pissed me off in the other books and it was no different here. Don't get me wrong I loved her but I wanted to slap and shake her quite a few times. I understand she was only doing what she thought was right for Clair but damn that woman.

Some may say I'm disturbed but so be it. I was rooting for Clair and Tony since book #1 well not really in book 1 but they had their moments but definitely in Book 2 . Of course not in the beginning but throughout the story I couldn't help but love them together. And the Tony Convicted omg he stole my heart. I loved their relationship, was it different, and didn't start under good circumstances Yes but it was Theirs.

Courtney & Meredith were Amazing friends. The type of friends we can only hope to find in this lifetime. They stayed real and true to Clair during her hard times especially in this book. They didn't judge and believed in Clair's strength and ability to make the decisions that were right for her unlike some people *cough*Emily*Cough* ;). and I loved that about them.

I can go on and on about the characters I loved such as Phil, Eric and Brent whom stayed true throughout the series but then this review would be really long :)

I actually had a mixture of feelings for Catherine, of course in the beginning I  loved her then I hated her and then I just felt sorry for her. She could have had so much but she let her past control her and dictate her decisions. or maybe she was really just was Evil.

In closing I will say This series has been a crazy rollercoaster ride filling me with so many different emotions and I couldn't ask for more. Just like the first 2 books Convicted had me on edge. I never knew what was going to happen from one scene to the next  there were so many twists and turns.  It's romance, Thriller, suspense, Dark ...it's everything you want and more. I really did absolutely love it and Thank  you Aleatha Romig for writing such an Extraordinary ending to an Amazing & Beautiful Story.
